Christmas cake

Yum. I love home-made Christmas cake.

It has to be made the proper way – in advance. I’m soaking the fruit in brandy now, for 2 days, then baking the cake, wrapping it tightly, and ‘feeding’ it with alcohol over the 6 weeks until Christmas. Then marzipan and royal icing.

My kitchen smells of alcohol, heh.
